Alivio Group is an expanding property group specialising in diverse accommodation offerings, from cost-effective cabins to high-end villas and boutique hotel rooms, catering to a broad market including families, couples, and solo travellers.
The journey began in 1989 with the acquisition of the former Canberra Motor Village by the Whitby family. Over the next two decades, sons Adam and Mark Whitby transitioned into leadership, continuing to build on the family legacy through strategic development and reinvestment.
In 2022, the acquisition of Alivio Hotel Cairns marked a significant milestone, along with the second purchase in 2024 of The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach, establishing Alivio Group as the overarching brand for a growing national portfolio.
Today, the Group manages three distinct properties located in Canberra, Cairns, and Brisbane, each offering guests a thoughtfully designed base to experience local attractions — combining comfort, location, and high-quality service.
