Canberra is any mountain biker’s dream, with numerous exceptional tracks right on its doorstep. Alivio is surrounded by Bruce Ridge – this hidden gem has one or two hour single trails that range from a walk-in-the-park to hold-on-to-your-handlebars.
If you venture away from the resort, Majura Pines is home to 20km of mapped and sign-posted trails for riders of all abilities. Stromlo was the host of the UTI World Mountain Bike Championships in 2009 and guarantees a world-class experience. If you’re in it for the long ride, Centenary Trail is one big loop around the edge of Canberra, taking you on a journey between urban and rural environments, past iconic sites and many hidden treasures. The trail can be done over a three-day ride, averaging just over 45km per day.
